Simplified Kicks off Elephant Sky with SOLD OUT Performance
Simplified delivered a memorable performance at their CD release party held Saturday, April 12th at The Visulite Theater in Charlotte, NC. A large turnout was expected, but I don’t think anyone imagined the crowd of fans that poured into the Theater on this history making night. Simplified was the first band based in Charlotte, NC to SELL OUT the Visulite since it’s opening, leaving a line fans on the sidewalk outside wanting to get in.
The night started off with the opening band, Lucky 5, who got this wall to wall crowd pumped with songs like Annie Up and Bigger Than My Enemy. The wild antics of the lead singer of the rock quartet, Marques, captured the attention of the crowd and raised the energy level of the anxious fans waiting for Simplified to make their appearance.
The room exploded when Simplified took the stage and opened with the title song from the album, Elephant Sky. The band played several songs from previous albums, and it was apparent that fans knew every word as they sang along and made motions to key phrases. Among others, Weeds and On and On from Elephant Sky seemed to be songs that would soon become instant favorites from this brand new taste of Simplified. The night concluded with an encore from the band and a thank you to fans for their support in making the kick off of this new album such a success. Fans were not reluctant in showing their excitement about the event, many responded with comments like “You guys shut that show DOWN!.. It's to bad Visulite has to be closed for the next few days till they get a new roof cuz you blew it clean off!”. Another fan added, “You boys rocked last night, you're going to have to start playing shows at Verizon!”. Others specifically made remarks about the new album, “Excellent new CD! Truly an awesome show last night! You guys rocked the house!”, another commented “Truly great album. Instant classic! Simplified fans....get this CD as fast as you possibly can!”. The Elephant Sky tour has just begun and it’s off to a great start. Make sure that you make it out to a Simplified performance in your town, and experience the excitement for yourself.
